01. DESCRIPTION

3500 years ago in the Great Plain

RECIPIENTS:
Primary schools: 3rd class 4th class 5th class - Secondary schools: 1st class

Everything that is not possible in a “traditional” museum becomes a reality in the Montale Archaeological Park, a place where science and popularisation combine to allow visitors to discover one of the most representative archaeological realities of our territory and of European proto-history: see the traces of the village of Montale in the archaeological area and relive the atmospheres of 3500 years ago in the open-air museum with life-size reconstructions of fortifications, dwellings and production areas.

The class is guided to the discovery of the terramara, but also to retrace the stages of the work that archaeologists have carried out at the Montale site: the archaeological excavation, the analysis of the finds, the reconstruction. With this methodology, the children/youths perceive the reconstruction area as the result of a research process that they themselves have the opportunity to experience.

The class processes data in the SpazioLab, a new multifunctional space, recently granted for use by the Municipality of Castelnuovo Rangone, equipped with the latest technology and furnishings.
