On Sundays and feast days in April, May, June, September and October, archaeologists and archaeo-technicians offer visitors to the park demonstrations of ancient craft techniques to help them understand through direct experience the methods and procedures used by terramare craftsmen.
In the scenic setting of the open-air museum, next to the reconstructed houses, the public has the opportunity to witness the reproduction of the main craft activities of Bronze Age communities: the manufacture and firing of pots, the production of bronze weapons and tools, stone chipping, weaving with weight looms, willow basket making, wood and deer horn working, and fire lighting.

Workshops
In workshops organised by park operators on certain days, young visitors can learn the techniques of terramare craftsmen, but also experience the research methods of the archaeobotanist, archaeologist or anthropologist.
Immersive visit
More than twenty years after its inauguration, the Terramara Park in Montale has taken up the challenge of combining the real and the virtual by making spaces strongly marked by materiality interact with the digital dimension.
The centrepiece of the intervention is the area of the archaeological excavations: through projections and LED walls, the preserved stratigraphy tells the story of the terramara from its foundation to its abandonment through the most significant evidence.
Inside the two reconstructed houses in the open-air museum, audio installations were designed to bring to life the sounds and noises of the activities that took place inside the houses and in the surrounding environment
The crackling of the fire, the pot boiling, the sound of the chassis in operation...
Then something exceptional happens: the warriors of the village gather to discuss an imminent threat. Their buzz is accompanied by the sound of metalworkers sharpening bronze weapons. A libation of wine concludes the meeting: it is time for battle.
